Become a Company Advocate

Perhaps the greatest question we get it is “How can I get my company more involved in RetailROI?

A company advocate for RetailROI is simply someone using their regular job to make a difference for children in need. What a company advocate does is the following:

Quite frankly, there are two ways for your company to look at RetailROI.

  • A great charity to support where upwards of 94% of funds go to grants and programs directly helping kids.

  • As a tremendous networking and marketing opportunity for your business that is not available in our industry. The level of access to press, analysts, top CIOs and retail industry leaders is unparalleled in the industry. And since it is for a cause greater than just another sale, the relationships are deeper and ultimately help your company grow as we help children in need.

Work internally to identify “who” within your organization would be responsible for the different types of programs where we would work together.

Here are just some ideas to get started:

  1. Get RetailROI setup in your charity system for either matching donations or payroll deductions. To get the paperwork, contact us at info(at)retailroi.org.

  2. Consider sponsoring SuperSaturday, donating a prize for March Gladness or making a donation for every visit to your trade show booth.

  3. Go on one of our trips. Nothing is more compelling than going on a trip and seeing the work. You can play golf or meet a cocktail party with prospects. But that doesn’t come close to the relationships built when you spend 3-4 days serving together (often with families) to make a difference. It’s a bond like none other in business. It’s not the reason for the trips, but a byproduct that can’t be denied.

  4. Pay for employees to travel to help. We have trips all over the world. Some are installation trips, all are vision trips. Vision trips are those where you see the work, then begin to brainstorm how your company and your network can help. Many companies have programs that will pay travel costs or even paid time to do short humanitarian trips. Check with your HR department to understand your programs.

  5. Incorporate RetailROI or partners into your customer or employee events. These can be done with very little time and development but have a major impact.

  1. a. We’ve had food packing events

  2. b. Amazing Race Scavenger Hunt to buy gifts for foster kids,

  3. c. Cornhole/Golf events where raffles and proceeds go to ROI,

  4. d. Rock n Roll Retail/Battle of the Bands with proceeds

  5. e. Basketball shootathons.
